Tier 4i emissions regulations will begin at the beginning of 2011 for engines in the 175-750 hp range. That’s why Volvo Construction Equipment is working hard to meet the new standard emission requirements with quality and reliability – two words synonymous with the Volvo brand.
Volvo Construction Equipment has recently received Tier 4 interim emissions certification for its Volvo D13 and Volvo D15 from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPS). The Volvo D13 is a 13 liter engine and the Volvo D16 is a 16 liter engine. These two certifications join the EPA certification for Volvo’s D11 – an 11 liter engine – that was received this past August.
What do these emission regulations mean? The regulations require a 90 percent reduction in diesel particulate matter (PM) and a 50 percent reduction in nitrogen oxide.
At Volvo Construction Equipment, we’re doing our part to reduce our environmental footprint.
