Recently Volvo Rents Acquired Palmetto Equipment Sales and Rentals, Inc. in South Carolina. It’s a two-location construction equipment rental company with stores in Ladson and Ridgeland.

These two recent acquisitions bring Volvo Rents’ statewide presence to a total of six rental centers, including the recent acquisition last month of Blue Eagle Equipment.

Volvo Rents' Puerto Rico Acquisitions

I’m proud to announce that Volvo Rents recently acquired Casco Rentals, a division of Casco, Inc. and Encar Rentals, Inc., in Puerto Rico. The new locations are in Toa Baja and Lajas.

The store in Puerto Rico will carry Volvo Rents’ expanding line of Volvo compact equipment – such as backhoe and skid steer loaders, compact wheel loaders, compact excavators and compaction equipment – in addition to a comprehensive line of essential equipment and tools for the construction, commercial, industrial and homeowner markets.

2012 promises to be an exciting year for us as we look forward to expanding further. During 2011, Volvo Rents acquired over 50 rental companies in the United States and six new locations in Canada.

A 40-year-old Volvo Constructruction Equipment wheel loader restored.

A 40-year-old Volvo Construction Equipment wheel loader, the H10, was recently restored by Van Werven, a Dutch equipment company to celebrate their 65th anniversary. The machine was the first piece of equipment bought by the company. Seven retired engineers took a total of 20 weeks to renovate the machine.

The story which ran in American Rental Association’s magazine, Rental Pulse quoted one of the retired engineers, Jan Sijtsma, as saying, ““Before the H10 was stripped, it still ran like a well-oiled machine, but it didn’t look like one. So, our task was to make it look beautiful and I took great pleasure in doing that together with six old-colleagues.”
