Q: I’ve heard skip loaders are best used for landscaping applications. Why?
A: A skip loader is basically a tractor with attachments on both ends. There is a loader bucket on the front and a box blade or landscape attachment on the back. Yes, they are used extensively on residential or commercial job sites for grading and site preparation. That has earned them the alternate name of landscape loaders.
Skip loaders or landscape loaders are used for landscape applications since the front bucket can haul material and the back box blade attachment can be used for grading, smoothing and leveling the ground.
Consider the repair of a gravel driveway. The back box blade would be used to smooth the path, right? Well, if there’s a hole – then you’d need to fill it with more gravel. That’s where having the front buck filled with gravel comes in handy.
This is only one application for the skip loader. Contact your Volvo Rents specialist at any one of our stores if you have more questions.
