A trencher! Trenchers are used to dig trenches for various different services.  The trenches can be used to lay underground service lines including water, gas, sewer, electric, communication cables or in your case – sprinkler pipes.

As you can see from the types of trenches that can be dug, trenchers are capable of handling a wide variety of jobs, both commercial and residential.  Therefore, there are different sizes and types of trenchers available. 

I don’t know the size of your property but I would guess that you would not be using a trencher as an attachment for a skid loader or tractor.  To meet your needs, you should look into a walk along or riding trencher.
