Andy Chavez, sales representative from our Volvo Rents Sacramento store recounts a recent experience during which our equipment was used to help build the Folsom Dam.

“We recently had Granite Construction request a mini excavator to go down into a new spillway.  There was only one way in and one way out,” said Andy.

“The excavator had to be lifted by a crane about 100 feet in the air and then placed down into the hole. The excavator was fitted with a hammer to bust up some rocks once it got down there.  The machine was down there for about two weeks.  It was pretty neat watching the excavator being lifted and carried through the air – quite the sight.”
