Day 2: USE THE BUDDY SYSTEM
Operating a heavy piece of equipment can be a dangerous job.  It is always important to HAVE A BUDDY to assist you when operating a BOOM LIFT around your job site.  For one, this will provide yet another set of EYES during your job thus improving your SAFETY IQ while on the construction site.  A 52-year old roofer from Columbus, OH was unfortunately killed earlier this year when he decided to get out of the BOOM BASKET to dislodge some shingles when the BOOM went into gear and pinning him up against a trash container.  While OSHA continues to investigate this fatal accident, having a BUDDY on the site MAY HAVE eliminated this unfortunate death of a fellow construction worker.
